If the snapshot "public_mode" configuration setting is set to true (vs default of false), unauthenticated users are able to delete the snapshot with the lowest database key by accessing the lit

Why this priority

  • Critical severity
  • EPSS top 1%: very likely to be exploited
  • Exploited in the wild (CISA KEV)
  • Public exploit reference
  • CISA SSVC: automatable with total technical impact
  • Remotely exploitable, no login, no user action

A fixed release or distro patch exists.

Safe to downgrade to: a release before 8.0.0
1. Check installed version
apt-cache policy grafana || rpm -q grafana || grafana --version
2. UPGRADE to 7.5.11 (Debian / Ubuntu)
sudo apt update && sudo apt install --only-upgrade grafana
2. UPGRADE (RHEL / Amazon Linux / Fedora)
