CVE-2025-11953: React Native Community CLI OS Command Injection Vulnerability
CVE-2025-11953 is a critical-severity flaw (CVSS 9.8) affecting react native community cli, reported as exploited in the wild. Below: why it ranks where it does, which versions are affected, what to do, and the exact commands.
The Metro Development Server, which is opened by the React Native Community CLI, binds to external interfaces by default. The server exposes an endpoint that is vulnerable to OS command injection. This allows unauthenticated network attackers to send a POST request to the server and run arbitrary executables. On Windows, the attackers can also execute arbitrary shell commands with fully controlled arguments.
Why this priority
- Critical severity
- EPSS top 1%: very likely to be exploited
- Exploited in the wild (CISA KEV)
- Public exploit reference
- CISA SSVC: automatable with total technical impact
- Remotely exploitable, no login, no user action
A fixed release or distro patch exists.
