LOW 3.9UPGRADE

CVE-2026-105083 is a low-severity flaw (CVSS 3.9) affecting imagemagick. Below: why it ranks where it does, which versions are affected, what to do, and the exact commands.

ImageMagick before 7.1.2-32 and 6.9.13-57 contains a policy bypass vulnerability in LoadPolicyCache that silently skips security policy rules when policy.xml uses an alternate DOCTYPE. A valid DOCTYPE not ending in ']>' makes the parser consume the rest of the file, so no policy rules are applied and restricted operations become allowed.

Downgrading can break dependent software and may reopen older bugs. Read the distro advisory first and test on a non-production host.
After downgrade
Restart the service, and keep the package held until a fixed release ships.
