CVE-2026-109945 is a medium-severity flaw (CVSS 5.3) affecting freerdp. Below: why it ranks where it does, which versions are affected, what to do, and the exact commands.

FreeRDP 3.0.0 before 3.32.0 contains a heap use-after-free vulnerability in smartcard emulation when SCARD_IOCTL_DISCONNECT and SCARD_IOCTL_TRANSMIT operate concurrently on one card handle. A malicious RDP server can overlap these IRPs through separate context workers to free and reuse the SCardHandle, causing client-process heap corruption and termination.

Downgrade risk
Downgrading can break dependent software and may reopen older bugs. Read the distro advisory first and test on a non-production host.
After downgrade
Restart the service, and keep the package held until a fixed release ships.
