HIGH 7.5REMOTEUPGRADE

CVE-2026-32933 is a high-severity flaw (CVSS 7.5) affecting automapper. Below: why it ranks where it does, which versions are affected, what to do, and the exact commands.

AutoMapper is a convention-based object-object mapper in .NET. Versions prior to 15.1.1 and 16.1.1 are vulnerable to a Denial of Service (DoS) attack. When mapping deeply nested object graphs, the library uses recursive method calls without enforcing a default maximum depth limit. This allows an attacker to provide a specially crafted object graph that exhausts the thread's stack memory, triggering a `StackOverflowException` and causing the entir

luckypennysoftware automapper UPGRADE
Affected: < 15.1.1 · >= 16.0.0 and < 16.1.1
Fixed in: 15.1.1, 16.1.1
Safe to downgrade to: a release before 16.0.0
1. Check installed version
apt-cache policy automapper || rpm -q automapper || automapper --version
2. UPGRADE to 15.1.1 (Debian / Ubuntu)
sudo apt update && sudo apt install --only-upgrade automapper
2. UPGRADE (RHEL / Amazon Linux / Fedora)
sudo dnf upgrade automapper
Note
Distros often backport fixes without changing the version number. Confirm with the distro advisory or changelog.
3. If no update is available yet, DOWNGRADE to a release before 16.0.0 (Debian / Ubuntu)
apt-cache madison automapper sudo apt install automapper=<VERSION_BEFORE_16.0.0> sudo apt-mark hold automapper
3. If no update is available yet, DOWNGRADE (RHEL / Amazon Linux / Fedora)
dnf --showduplicates list automapper sudo dnf downgrade automapper-<VERSION_BEFORE_16.0.0> sudo dnf versionlock add automapper
Downgrade risk
Downgrading can break dependent software and may reopen older bugs. Read the distro advisory first and test on a non-production host.
After downgrade
Restart the service, and keep the package held until a fixed release ships.
