CVE-2026-44247 is a medium-severity flaw (CVSS 6.8) affecting volcano. Below: why it ranks where it does, which versions are affected, what to do, and the exact commands.

Volcano is a Kubernetes-native batch scheduling system. Prior to v1.14.2, v1.13.3, and v1.12.4, the Volcano webhook server does not enforce a size limit on incoming HTTP request bodies. Any in-cluster pod that can reach the webhook endpoint may send an arbitrarily large request body, potentially causing the webhook server to be killed by OOM. All Volcano deployments with the webhook server exposed to in-cluster traffic are affected. This vulnerab

1. Check installed version
apt-cache policy volcano || rpm -q volcano || volcano --version
2. UPGRADE to 1.12.4 (Debian / Ubuntu)
sudo apt update && sudo apt install --only-upgrade volcano

sudo dnf upgrade volcano
Note
Distros often backport fixes without changing the version number. Confirm with the distro advisory or changelog.
3. If no update is available yet, DOWNGRADE to a release before 1.13.0 (Debian / Ubuntu)
apt-cache madison volcano sudo apt install volcano=<VERSION_BEFORE_1.13.0> sudo apt-mark hold volcano
3. If no update is available yet, DOWNGRADE (RHEL / Amazon Linux / Fedora)
dnf --showduplicates list volcano sudo dnf downgrade volcano-<VERSION_BEFORE_1.13.0> sudo dnf versionlock add volcano
Downgrade risk
Downgrading can break dependent software and may reopen older bugs. Read the distro advisory first and test on a non-production host.
After downgrade
Restart the service, and keep the package held until a fixed release ships.
