CRITICAL 9.8REMOTEUPGRADE

CVE-2026-8505 is a critical-severity flaw (CVSS 9.8) affecting langflow. Below: why it ranks where it does, which versions are affected, what to do, and the exact commands.

IBM Langflow OSS 1.0.0 through 1.10.0 has a vulnerability in Langflow's webhook authentication logic allows unauthenticated users to trigger the execution of any flow. The system incorrectly bypasses API key validation when the WEBHOOK_AUTH_ENABLE configuration is set to False (which is the default setting). This allows a remote attacker who knows a flow's UUID to execute it as if they were the owner, potentially leading to Remote Code Execution

Why this priority

  • Critical severity
  • CISA SSVC: automatable with total technical impact
  • Remotely exploitable, no login, no user action

A fixed release or distro patch exists.

langflow langflow UPGRADE
Affected: >= 1.0.0 and < 1.10.1
Fixed in: 1.10.1
Safe to downgrade to: a release before 1.0.0
1. Check installed version
apt-cache policy langflow || rpm -q langflow || langflow --version
2. UPGRADE to 1.10.1 (Debian / Ubuntu)
sudo apt update && sudo apt install --only-upgrade langflow
2. UPGRADE (RHEL / Amazon Linux / Fedora)
sudo dnf upgrade langflow
Note
Distros often backport fixes without changing the version number. Confirm with the distro advisory or changelog.
3. If no update is available yet, DOWNGRADE to a release before 1.0.0 (Debian / Ubuntu)
apt-cache madison langflow sudo apt install langflow=<VERSION_BEFORE_1.0.0> sudo apt-mark hold langflow
3. If no update is available yet, DOWNGRADE (RHEL / Amazon Linux / Fedora)
dnf --showduplicates list langflow sudo dnf downgrade langflow-<VERSION_BEFORE_1.0.0> sudo dnf versionlock add langflow
Downgrade risk
Downgrading can break dependent software and may reopen older bugs. Read the distro advisory first and test on a non-production host.
After downgrade
Restart the service, and keep the package held until a fixed release ships.
