HIGH 7.5REMOTEUPGRADE

CVE-2026-106113 is a high-severity flaw (CVSS 7.5) affecting imagesharp. Below: why it ranks where it does, which versions are affected, what to do, and the exact commands.

ImageSharp is a 2D graphics library. From 2.0.0 until 4.1.2, decoding an attacker-supplied 32-bit floating-point TIFF as Image<HalfVector4> and applying HistogramEqualization can produce a non-finite or out-of-range luminance in ColorNumerics.GetBT709Luminance. GrayscaleLevelsRowOperation.Invoke uses the resulting value as an unchecked histogram offset, causing an unsafe out-of-range access and process termination. Adaptive Histogram Equalization

Timeline

sixlabors imagesharp UPGRADE
Affected: >= 2.0.0 and < 3.2.0 · >= 4.0.0 and < 4.1.2
Fixed in: 3.2.0, 4.1.2
Safe to downgrade to: a release before 2.0.0
1. Check installed version
apt-cache policy imagesharp || rpm -q imagesharp || imagesharp --version
2. UPGRADE to 3.2.0 (Debian / Ubuntu)
sudo apt update && sudo apt install --only-upgrade imagesharp
2. UPGRADE (RHEL / Amazon Linux / Fedora)
sudo dnf upgrade imagesharp
Note
Distros often backport fixes without changing the version number. Confirm with the distro advisory or changelog.
3. If no update is available yet, DOWNGRADE to a release before 2.0.0 (Debian / Ubuntu)
apt-cache madison imagesharp sudo apt install imagesharp=<VERSION_BEFORE_2.0.0> sudo apt-mark hold imagesharp
3. If no update is available yet, DOWNGRADE (RHEL / Amazon Linux / Fedora)
dnf --showduplicates list imagesharp sudo dnf downgrade imagesharp-<VERSION_BEFORE_2.0.0> sudo dnf versionlock add imagesharp
Downgrade risk
Downgrading can break dependent software and may reopen older bugs. Read the distro advisory first and test on a non-production host.
After downgrade
Restart the service, and keep the package held until a fixed release ships.
